Interpack is the world's largest packaging fair and is held every three years in Düsseldorf. This characteristic makes it a prestigious event that industry professionals don't want to miss under any circumstances. Over 170,000 visitors from 169 countries and more than 2,500 exhibiting companies are expected at Interpack, taking place May 7–13, 2026.
Scope of Interpack
The fair covers packaging machinery and systems, packaging materials (plastic, paper, cardboard, metal, glass), food processing technologies, pharmaceutical packaging, logistics and storage solutions, and sustainable packaging technologies. Sustainability and recyclable packaging will be among the most prominent themes of 2026.
Opportunities for the Turkish Packaging Sector
Turkey has a strong packaging production capacity. Turkish companies competing internationally in flexible packaging, corrugated cardboard, PET bottles, and packaging machinery exports find direct meeting opportunities with European and global buyers at Interpack. Additionally, Turkish food companies should leverage this fair to discover new packaging technologies and materials.
Participation Preparation
For Interpack, held every three years, you may need to apply at least 1 year in advance; popular areas fill up very quickly. Contact PAGDER (Plastic Packaging Manufacturers Association) and relevant exporters' associations for national participation. Since the fairgrounds are extremely large, planning your thematic route in advance saves time.
Practical Information for Düsseldorf
Direct flights from Istanbul to Düsseldorf take approximately 3 hours. Düsseldorf Airport is connected to the fairgrounds by S-Bahn. A Schengen visa is required. Book hotels in Düsseldorf and surrounding cities at least 6 months in advance as they fill up early during fair week. The next Interpack will be in 2029 — don't miss this opportunity.
