Salone del Mobile Milano opens its doors every April in Milan, recognized as the world capital of furniture and interior design. The 2026 edition, taking place April 21–26 at Rho Fiera Milano, is the largest and most prestigious event in the furniture sector with over 1,900 exhibitors across 169,000 m² of fully booked exhibition space.
Turkey and Salone del Mobile
Turkey is Europe's second largest furniture exporter. Salone del Mobile is the most critical platform where Turkish furniture and decoration companies meet European distributors, designers, and retailers. The combination of Italian aesthetic sensibility and Turkish production capacity creates strong demand at this fair.
Sub-sections of the Fair
Salone del Mobile hosts multiple specialized fairs: iSaloni (general furniture and decoration), EuroCucina (kitchen systems, 106 brands), International Bathroom Exhibition (163 brands), SaloneSatellite (young designers). When planning participation, clarify which section you want to be in and who your target audience is.
Preparing for Milan Fair
Individual participation at Salone del Mobile is highly competitive and early application is essential. Stand space prices can be higher than Hannover Messe. However, the fair's prestige and qualified buyer profile make the investment worthwhile. Be sure to attend Fuori Salone events (open galleries and showrooms throughout Milan) held simultaneously with the fair — the most productive networking happens here.
Practical Information
Direct flights from Istanbul to Milan take approximately 2.5 hours. The fairgrounds (Rho Fiera) are connected to Milan center and airports by metro. During fair week, the entire city of Milan takes on a lively design festival atmosphere; book hotel reservations at least 4–5 months in advance. A Schengen application is required for an Italian visa.
